Regina Q. Banks is a first-year MDiv student at PLTS with a Concentration in Climate Justice and Faith and the Director of the Lutheran Office of Public Policy – California.

As Director of the Lutheran Office of Public Policy CA, Regina leads Lutherans across the Golden State in advocating for just climate policies. From wildfires, to droughts, to air pollution, Regina has seen how climate change is devasting low-income communities and communities of color first and worst.  When considering seminary, Regina was excited by the possibility of focusing her seminary studies on climate justice. She has also appreciated the flexibility to fit her coursework into her busy schedule.

“Climate change is the defining issue of our time.  PLTS has demonstrated its commitment to meeting this kairos moment by creating a revolutionary climate justice concentration, but also working with me to help fit the program into my busy schedule. It’s the balance of the personal and global that sets PLTS apart.”

If you live in California and are interested in getting involved with the Lutheran Office of Public Policy, consider joining their upcoming Lutheran Lobby Day in Sacramento on May 17, 2023. Learn more here.
