American Prayer: Photographs by Lucas Foglia. Opening Reception Thursday September 5th, 5-7pm GTU Doug Adams Gallery Berkeley, CA

Thursday, September 5th 5-7pm

The PLTS Center for Climate Justice and Faith initiated a collaboration with the GTU Center for Arts and Religion to host American Prayer: Photographs by Lucas Foglia. For American Prayer, Lucas Foglia traveled throughout the United States to attend religious and spiritual rituals in nature. The people he photographed share the belief that the other-than-human parts of nature are both our joy and our responsibility. Do join us for the Opening Reception on Thursday September 5th from 5-7pm at the Doug Adams Gallery in Berkeley.

Over the past decade, Lucas Foglia has become a global voice in art and environmental advocacy. A 2024 Guggenheim Fellow, Foglia’s projects about people in nature have been exhibited at Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, High Museum of Art, International Center of Photography, Les Rencontres d’Arles, Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, Philadelphia Museum of Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Contemporary Photography Chicago, Victoria & Albert Museum, and many others. Foglia also shares his photographs with the people he portrays, news organizations, and NGOs.
