Building relationships with BIPOC leaders for climate justice

My goal is to build relationships with BIPOC (Black, indigenous, and other people of color) leaders in Minneapolis who are doing climate justice work. I believe that transformational change that we need requires strong relationships of commitment, mutual care, and accountability. I also believe that my predominantly-white Lutheran congregation has a lot to learn from Black and indigenous leaders and other front-line communities on key issues, solutions, and spiritual resilience. My hope is to develop relationships with these leaders in hopes of laying groundwork for future possible ways to collaborate on climate justice in our city and state.
